I am a stress eater. My grandmother showed me love through food. Anything I wanted. And it helped me deal with being forgotten and shipped to California to live with relatives I had only seen a few times in my life. I took that mindset, happiness and dealing with my problems through food, to the next level. When I moved to Chico I was about 300 pounds.
Now, as an adult, being fat CAUSE'S me to be depressed and unhappy. I've wanted to get a beautiful body my WHOLE LIFE...but I could never seem to do it on my own. I've tried. I went through a bit last year of 4 to 5 days a week at the gym....worked my ASS off!
Except...it didn't come off. In fact, after becoming disgusted with the lack of results...I stopped working out, and I got fat again. Right back to where I started...if not even worse. Anybody else experienced this? You bet ya. Pretty common I'd say. But no more...I've got help!
Shredded. That's my goal. By Memorial Day I want to go from " flab and fat “to "tone and tight". And, Nutrishop has challenged me to "GET FIT", and offered me their support to do so.
Some of you may think that means pills, pills, pills, powders, and shakes, and starving, and struggling. It doesn't. THE DIET
Nutrishop first wanted to know what I was eating and when. I had NO IDEA that dieting was as important when trying to lose weight as it is. For me, I work odd hours, and I have to go long periods of time without a meal....and being that my goal is to shred the fat, together, we decided what I should eat and when, and it all works with my schedule!
I eat Eggs and Oatmeal with Blueberry's in the morning when I wake up. Actually, this is better than I have ever eaten in the morning. I tend to just wait till lunch or something later in the day...
For lunch (about 3 hours later) I eat Chicken and Rice. Fills me up, tastes good. And...I prepare the Chicken, so all I do is grab and go.
I have apples and nuts (almonds) sitting at work, so I take some protein shake powder with me, and from I have a couple of shakes and some fruit and nuts while I'm at work, spaced a couple of hours apart.
This feeds my body, and keeps me metabolizing fat throughout the day. It works well actually. I haven't been hungry at all.
THE SUPPLEMENTS
I didn't want to feel cracked out...I just wanted something natural to keep my body metabolizing throughout the day....
I take the Pro 5 Protein shake as a meal replacement while I'm at the station...it feeds my body, keeps my muscle supplied with the nutrients they need to grow and get strong, and it keeps me from getting HUNGRY.
I also take Adicor throughout the day. It helps me to eliminate bloating, and burn off fat in the troubled areas (like my love handles). It also gives me a natural energy boost so I feel "peppy" and it further controls my appetite.
I did some blood work a while back, and I'm testosterone deficient, so I supplement that as well with a product called Ergotest (click Products > Pro Testosterone > Ergotest) . It basically balances my chemicals out a bit so I can grow muscle more effectively.
I'm also taking an Essential Fatty Acid's (or ESA's) supplement. It's yellow and looks like a capsule filled with Fish Oil...which...basically it is.
All of the supplements I am taking have been run passed my doctor to ensure I'm not mixing things I shouldn't be mixing and I would suggest that as part of a responsible workout regime, you do the same. The supplements are a small part of the overall program, and have been included as a way to help my body do what it does already, burn fat and make energy, but at its peak level....
What supplements to take, when, and how, are very personal decisions to make. Talk to your doctor, and talk to a Sports Nutritionist (like...um at Nutrishop?) before you start ANY supplement plan. Don't simply copy what I'm doing. This is tailored to fit my needs. Get your OWN plan!
THE WORKOUT
Diet is 75% of my plan. Shred the fat. But we also want to develop what is underneath the fat at the same time, so once it's gone...I've got some muscles to show off.
I work 3 days a week for 45 minutes. Honest. That's it. Monday and Thursday I do my upper body, and Wednesday I work lower body. I also play a little tennis and I like to run....so I do those as well, but to each their own.
THE RESULTS
We'll post up pictures week by week of how I'm doing. I'll also share a few of my achievements with you in this section.

I've been at this now for a little over a week...and I've already shredded a few inches of my love handles. I feel great, my mind is good, and I'm solidly into my plan. This has been easy so far. I know it won't always be easy, but I feel really comfortable that if I get stuck, I'll go back to Nutrishop and they can help me over the next hump.
